Hugs and Kisses- I Heart Faces

This is my entry to I Heart Faces this week. Taken the day after Beatrice arrived home.

Owning My Suck-i-Tude Part 2. Making Dealies and Feeling My High School Self Laughing

My completed tote project. This one was actually going beautifully in the beginning. It is when I moved on to the finer details that things began to go haywire.

See now. I drew myself pretty little boxes to reinforce the handles so that all I had to do was sew on the lines. Ha! It did not work out as planned and I have decided that is something my machine should be able to do for me from this point forward.

Also WTH happened with the scoopy part there? I cut all 4 pieces at the same time and they looked awesome until actually placed in the same space. Bwa ha ha ha ha.

Maybe the lining wanted to be seen!

Then finally we have the dealies.

I loved making the dealies.

They are forgiving and someone would have to get all up in my totes business to see the true horror show that lies underneath all that crunched up fabric.

Plus I now know how to make cute fabric flowers for the girls headbands. I had always heard they were quick and easy to make. Now I know the internet is not lying to me.

...........and yes..........my dramatic high school self who shunned all things super girly is laughing hysterically right now. Fabric flowers on tote bags! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

This will be making its real life debut holding candy thrown at Fasching on Tuesday. Good times people. Good times.

Turnabout and Teeth

Two teeth lost this week.

Mihiret FINALLY lost one of her front teeth. Sucker has been wiggling for-freaking-ever. That, of course, makes momma nuts since I love yanking loose teeth. Tristan called her Hillbilly Girl since she spent the whole time he only had one tooth calling him Hillbilly Boy. Turnabout....gotta love it.

I know am even more certain that these two kids are trying to catch the tooth fairy. They talked about it all evening. Some of their ideas were out there. One was to capture the tooth fairy and take all her teeth so they would get more money from the tooth fairy. Not the best thought out plan since the tooth fairy cannot pay them while detained right? I Non-issue for these two. I did They have life all figured out you know. te he

Apparently I Lost Count

I think sometimes I forget that our family is now considered large.

By European standards it is considered a "What the hell would you want that many kids for" type of family.

Booking rooms for the brood is proving to be exceedingly difficult.

Any recommendations for families like ours that actually (GASP!) want to travel while living in Europe please send them our way. Fun stuff. Fun stuff.

Hope You Feel It

I hope that everyone enjoys this day with someone who loves you with their whole heart.

I mean....you would have to love someone a lot to let them get all up in your space like that right? LOL

I think they may actually be double teaming momma in an attempt to figure out if the tooth fairy is a real fairy.

They are going to have to wait for another tooth to find out to see. wink wink.

Sweet Tristan

What can I say about Tristan? I cannot believe that he is 8 years old!

I think he is going to be a world changer! He is extraordinarily compassionate, thoughtful and giving.

He has a very particular sense of humor. He is honest and extremely open. He makes friends easily and still loves Mihiret more then any other person.

He loves Legos and figuring out how things work. He can (and will) ask you 100 "but what about this mom?" questions in a 10 minute period. He is doing very well in school and loves reading.

Happy Birthday Tristan. You are magic.
