Today my baby started school. She was SO Excited and I am excited for her. I cannot believe the day has finally arrived.
There were no tears from this momma and I think I know why..
When we set out to adopt a second time our approved age range was 3-8 years. Generally you understand when making that request that you will be matched with a child in the upper range. We were expecting to be placed with a child close in age to T and M and we were very happy with that prospect.
Then we learned about B and well.... the rest is history!
We had the chance to receive sticky kisses again
We had the chance to see her blossom and become the proclaimed lord and master of the horde. She plays everyone in the house like a fiddle.
Three and four year old years were just as crazy, unpredictable and entertaining as I remembered them being.
I did not cry today as I watched my baby walk into school because I just feel so grateful that we had the chance to experience the toddler and preschool years one last time. We thought that our time for parenting littles had passed us by. I am sure glad we were wrong. This child is a bright shining light in our lives and we are grateful for her every day. The last two years have been an absolute pleasure.
Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Marcel Proust
